The Audacity of Humanity

Last month I was honoured with an invitation to contribute to a new ebook titled The Audacity of Humanity, which was edited by Kyra Gaunt, Ph.D, a professor of ethnomusicology at Baruch College-CUNY and 2009 TED Fellow. The ebook “features over 39 authors, ages 10 to 63, from five continents, representing multiple ethnicities, sexualities and belief systems with different abilities and limitations. We are ONE people, the human race, courageously up-ending stereotypes and generalizations.”

It is available for free download from scribd.com as a PDF. Please download it today and share it with your friends and family. If you’re on Facebook, you can also become a fan of The Audacity of Humanity.

    Hello.

My name is Sol-Hee Jeong. I’m a student at Suncheon Hyocheon High School in South Korea.

I’m participating in a program called “youth go to the world” hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality women.

This program involves myself and 3 other students going abroad to investigate something about that country we think needs to be reflected in our country.

We are very interested in how Canada has been educating people about multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism is rapidly growing but is being ignored in policies and socially neglected in South Korea.

We hear that Canada is the fastest contry where multicultural policies have been enforced, and is known to admit each and every country’s culture.

Those are things that South Korea has to learn, while if is at the threshold of racial society.

We plan to visit Vancouver in August(2-16) to get information about multiculturalism. Would it be possible to meet with someone from your office to learn how students in B.C. learn about multiculturalism?

    Thank you.
